Counsellor - Part-time 3-4 days a week
Join our welcoming team to work with tamariki and whānau at Jigsaw North Manaaki Whānau and in schools to support their wellbeing and help them thrive.
Jigsaw North Manaaki Whānau in Whangarei is looking for an experienced and self-motivated counsellor/therapist to join our professional, family-friendly team. The role includes counselling/therapy to tamariki and whānau at Jigsaw North and in selected schools in Whangarei. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in children's lives.
Minimum Requirements for this role are:
• A recognised Counselling qualification
• Member of NZ professional association
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work well in diverse teams and be self-motivated
• Committed to own cultural safety
• Committed to implementation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in own practice
• Understanding of tikanga Māori
• Committed to mana enhancing practice
• Passionate about the well-being of tamariki and whānau
• Able to work with individuals and groups
• Able to work with diverse range of clients
• An understanding of trauma and attachment focused models of practice
• Willing to learn and grow
• Computer literate

Odd Jobs Handyperson
We are needing someone with practical skills and experience to help us with odd jobs around our house and premises. Would require a few hours a month.
Odd jobs such as: Putting up signs, noticeboards, small fix it or maintenance jobs.

Due to the high need in our community, as of August 2025, we currently have a waitlist of 100 families for counselling.
